Entering its fourth successful year, The Prudential Beach 5s was an amazing event, matched with amazing weather!

Held at arguably Hong Kong's most popular and iconic beach venue, Repulse Bay, fans flocked in throughout the weekend to enjoy a mixture of rugby, netball, pizza and beer! Many pizzas were eaten, many kegs were drunk, lots of sport enjoyed - we already can't wait for next year!
When innovative events company TCOB Media offered us the opportunity to come on board as sponsors, VenueHub jumped at the chance. As a company, we consider lots of different marketing campaigns, but I myself love sponsoring events, and creating a buzz. For us it was money well spent!
VenueHub sponsored two teams; girls netball team 'VenueHub Saffas' and girls rugby team 'VenueHub Jellyfish'. Both teams looked awesome in their specially-designed VenueHub branded kit! The teams did the brand proud and it was great fun to watch.
The VenueHub Saffas, all of whom are excellent hockey players, initially struggled to understand that netball is a non-contact sport and also that sand takes quite a bit of adapting to play on! Indeed, some of their initial games was like watching Bambi on ice! Still, in great spirit and spurred on by their vocal Team Manager and supporters, they picked themselves up after each loss, "rehydrated" with a few beers and ciders (and on occasion gin!), and then went straight back into the mixer with 100% effort! Special mention goes to Gabby Kitney, whose fierce aggressive play put fear into the opponents! Super job girls!
The Jellyfish girls also did extremely well, making it into the Cup semi-finals. They played their rugby with flair and and were really entertaining for the capacity crowd! Most importantly, just like the Saffas, they were there to enjoy themselves, which is how it should be in what was very much a carnival atmosphere. It's 'Rugby Week' in Hong Kong, and we were delighted to play some part in it. With the Sevens coming up this weekend, this was no better way to prepare. Thanks again to TCOB and all the event staff for putting on a great show!
