Dragon Dash 2013, billed as "Hong Kong's most exciting adventure race" ran on Saturday, and Team VenueHub were on hand as event sponsors. The race, now in its third year, required race participants, in mixed teams of 4-5, to solve fun and quirky live action clues around Hong Kong and input the answers into a specially-designed smartphone app. Everyone eventually ended up at an underground after-party at a secret location, being revealed this time as the Confucius Hall Middle School. Although very much intended as a fun day out for all involved, the 2013 edition had some seriously impressive prizes at stake, the winning team netting themselves a two night stay at luxury Bangkok hotel "Hotel G".
Adam and Ali from Team VenueHub, unable to compete in the race, decided to trail a team who eventually ended up in fourth, just outside the podium places. Their creativity however was duly rewarded when they won "best team name" and a prize of six bottles of Krug champagne.
Adam, VenueHub's co-founder, had this to say about the event:
"We were well aware of Dragon Dash's success as an event in the past two years, and spotted a wonderful opportunity to get involved in a formal capacity as event sponsors. It's a really fun day for all involved, raising money for a great cause, and we've been able to spread the word about VenueHub to a whole new bunch of people. We'd like to thank the Dragon Dash committee for organising a terrific event and for giving us this opportunity."
The main charity being supported by this year's event was Feeding Hong Kong. FHK is "the only food bank in Hong Kong dedicated to redistributing surplus food to people in need". The final total that the event raised will be released shortly.
